Brandy and Monica Reunite for “The Boy Is Mine Tour,” Celebrating a Legacy of R&B Excellence
More than two decades after making music history, Brandy Norwood and Monica Arnold are reuniting to honor their legacy—and reignite the magic that made them household names in R&B.
The two Grammy-winning vocalists have announced their highly anticipated co-headlining tour, “The Boy Is Mine Tour,” kicking off this fall in celebration of their iconic 1998 duet.
The tour begins Oct. 16 and will make stops in major cities including Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit, Memphis and more, before wrapping up Dec. 7.
The announcement marks a momentous reunion for the legendary singers, whose careers helped define a generation of Black music, style and storytelling.
Originally released in May 1998, “The Boy Is Mine” became a cultural phenomenon. The duet—born from both artistic chemistry and public fascination—topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 13 consecutive weeks and earned the pair a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group.
In the decades since, the song has remained a defining anthem of late ‘90s R&B and an enduring symbol of two young Black women navigating fame, rivalry and unity in the music industry.
Now, 27 years later, Brandy and Monica are returning not just to perform, but to honor their intertwined legacies and celebrate their impact on the culture.
“This tour is more than a reunion—it’s a full-circle moment,” said a joint statement from the artists. “We’re coming together to give our fans the show they’ve been waiting for and to celebrate the music that shaped so many of our lives.”
In a tribute to the evolution of R&B, the tour will feature special appearances from artists who have continued to carry the genre forward.
Grammy-winning singer Kelly Rowland, singer-songwriter Muni Long, and Jamal Roberts, the Season 23 winner of American Idol, are slated to join the lineup. Their presence underscores the tour’s intergenerational focus and the lasting influence of Brandy and Monica’s artistry.
Hints of a collaboration first surfaced earlier this year when the duo appeared in Ariana Grande’s 2025 music video for her reimagined version of “The Boy Is Mine.” Their cameo, followed by vocals on the remix, reignited excitement among fans and served as a teaser for what would soon be announced as the official tour.
Tickets for “The Boy Is Mine Tour” went on sale June 27, and demand is already soaring.
With decades of timeless hits between them—from Brandy’s “Have You Ever” and “Full Moon” to Monica’s “Angel of Mine” and “So Gone”—the duo is expected to deliver a night of nostalgia, vocal excellence and Black musical legacy at its finest.
For many Black listeners, Brandy and Monica’s music is deeply personal. Their voices soundtracked moments of love, heartbreak, growth and coming-of-age for a generation.
Their return to the stage together is not just entertainment—it’s an homage to the history they helped create and a celebration of the sisterhood and strength that have sustained them both.
As they embark on this historic tour, Brandy and Monica aren’t just performing a song—they’re reclaiming a legacy. One that reminds us of the beauty of collaboration, the resilience of Black women in music, and the timeless power of a story well told.
